We recently participated in a pivotal forum organized by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and the Federal Capital Territory Secondary Education Board (FCT-SEB). The event focused on enhancing the promotion of ethics and integrity among stakeholders at the school level for students. This initiative is crucial in instilling values that will shape the future of our youth.
During the forum, we presented a goodwill message introducing the School Anticorruption and Integrity Network. This network aims to unite schools in the fight against corruption, fostering a collective effort to promote integrity and ethics. The ICPC has been at the forefront of promoting anti-corruption values in schools, recognizing the importance of catching them young.
The forum provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss strategies for promoting ethics and integrity in schools. Key areas of focus included:
Ethics and Integrity Compliance: Evaluating schools’ compliance with ethics, integrity, statutes, policies, and regulations.
Anti-Corruption Clubs: Establishing clubs in schools to promote awareness and reduce corruption among students.
Value-Based Education: Incorporating core values into the curriculum to shape students’ character.
By collaborating with stakeholders, we can create a corruption-free environment that encourages students to embrace integrity . The ICPC’s efforts to promote ethics and integrity in schools are commendable, and we look forward to continued partnership in this quest. Together, we can shape the future of our youth and build a corruption-free Nigeria.
