Comr. Davidson O. F. Okhuoya, Chairman and the Chief Executive Director of Youth Anti-Corruption Society, is a champion in the fight against corruption and promotion of democracy. As an experienced youth leader, Okhuoya has devoted his efforts towards empowering young people to tackle corruption and promote good governance.
Okhuoya’s passion for anti-corruption and democracy began during his undergraduate studies in Microbiology at the University of Benin, Nigeria. During this time, he became increasingly aware of the negative effect of corruption on health care systems, education, and other sectors of society. This understanding led Okhuoya to create the Youth Anti-Corruption Society, a youth-led organization fighting corruption in Nigeria and beyond.
Through his leadership, the Youth Anti-Corruption Society has carried out several successful campaigns advocating for accountability, transparency, and good governance. Some of the campaigns include “Teen 1000” and “U-2023” which aimed to raise awareness on the need for ethical conduct and the importance of active citizen participation in building democratic institutions.
Okhuoya’s experience in working with youths has been instrumental in his anti-corruption efforts. He understands that youths are the future of any society and investing in their well-being is critical for a just and sustainable world. As such, Okhuoya has organized many programs that have empowered youths, such as the Youth Anti-Corruption Academy.
In addition to his studies in microbiology, Okhuoya has also received training in behavioural change, forensic accounting, conflict resolution, and corporate governance. This vast experience has helped him in developing strategies to combat corruption at all levels of society, from the grassroots to the highest echelons of political power.
Davidson Okhuoya’s leadership in the fight against corruption is a testament to the power and potential of youths as catalysts for change. His dedication to empowering youths and advocating for democracy has inspired many around the world to join the fight against corruption. We can only hope that more youths take up this noble cause and work towards creating a world that is free from corruption and inequality.
